Ruby, with a bit of orange. It is intense and complex on the nose, with fruity aromas of cherry jam, and spices. It is dry, velvety, warm and rightly tannic. Full bodied with a persistent and intense finesse.
About the Producer:
Born into a winemaking family, Alberto Loi helped his father, Giovanni Antonio Loi bring back the native grape, Cannonau from its almost-extinction post phylloxera. Some decades later, Alberto established his estate in the late 1940’s. Today, third and fourth generations run the estate, which is in Ogliastra, east-central Sardinia, home to the prized Cannonau.
Technical:
Fermentation with submerged cap in stainless steel silos. It was aged in Slavonian oak and in 2nd hand barriques.
