Alberto Loi, Vermentino Theria, Sardegna 2015
About the Wine:
Bright yellow color. Intense and complex on the nose, it has a wide range of fruity and floral aromas, white flowers blended to the soft notes of spice and dried fruit. The taste is gently warm, dry and mineral; intense and persistent. Look to pair this with seafood, white meat, and light cheeses.
About the Producer:
Born into a winemaking family, Alberto Loi helped his father, Giovanni Antonio Loi bring back the native grape, Cannonau from its almost-extinction post phylloxera. Some decades later, Alberto established his estate in the late 1940’s. Today, third and fourth generations run the estate, which is in Ogliastra, east-central Sardinia, home to the prized Cannonau.
Technical:
The grapes were organically grown to produce this spontaneously fermented Vermentino.
