Buena Vista Winery, Chardonnay, Carneros
About the Wine: A garland of Crème fraiche, lemon zest, ripe pea, orange zest and brioche leap from the glass. This is a vibrant, medium-bodied wine with flavors of fresh peaches, honeysuckle, toasted almonds, and hints of spiced apple coated with refreshing acidity and a buttery-textured finish. About the Producer: The self-proclaimed Count, and our founder, Agoston Haraszthy, understood that great wine comes not only from great grapes but also from great places. In the 1860’s Buena Vista covered more than 6,000 acres reaching from the southernmost part of Sonoma Valley into Napa County. Both regions offer a unique terroir – the magical combination of all the attributes required to create outstanding wines of a particular site – from the soil to the climate, to the site’s exposure to the sun, to the vine itself. With the release of the Chateau Buena Vista wines, we celebrate and honor Buena Vista’s indelible presence and significant contributions to the California wine world. These wines are a culmination of the storied history of Buena Vista ... a story like no other. Technical Info: Natalias selection Chardonnay is harvested from the Green Valley region of the Russian River Valley, where the warm summer days and cool nights of the region allowed the select blocks to reach optimum ripeness and flavor maturity. The grapes for the 2019 Chardonnay were harvested in the early morning to retain freshness. The wine underwent 100% malolactic fermentation and was aged in 65% French oak, 18% new, for 13 months prior to bottling.
