About the Wine: This zero/zero Franciacorta is an absolute stunner. Not only is it one of the only naturally made wines from the region, but also the only one made by a female winemaker. It captures racy acidity and clean, mineral-driven depth. About the Producer: Alessandra is working with nature rather than against it to create intentional products and she is not going unnoticed for it. She has quickly become recognized for being first estate in her region of Franciacorta in Lombardy, to be both organic and led by a female. Some refer to her as the “Italian answer to grower Champagne.” Her wines are 100% method champenoise and come from all of 2 hectares of land, embedded with clay and limestone, which she leases from her neighbor. She takes a natural approach and does not add any sulphites and no dosage. They are simply products of their environment, which you may get a feel for when you drink one.
