Elderton Wines Ode to Lorraine, Barossa Valley Exceptional site

About the Wine:
The Ode to Lorraine expresses spiced dark chocolate, plums, with hints of bay leaf, cassis, and other dark red fruits. It is bold with serious tannins. Enjoy now or cellar up to 15 or more years.
The decision was made from the 2002 vintage onwards for the wine to be renamed (from CSM) in honour of co-founder of Elderton Wines, Lorraine Ashmead. This wine is dedicated to a woman who is greatly admired in the Barossa for her passion, dedication and commitment to not only Elderton, but to all the wondrous things our beautiful valley produces.
About the Producer:
Neil and Lorraine Ashmead purchased a home in 1979 that was on the market for so long that the realtor offered the 72-acre vineyard as a bonus. Over the course of three years, the couple worked to restore the vines. The family prioritizes sustainability and therefore, the estate is a certified member of Sustainable Winegrowing Australia. They work with Carbon Neutral to purchase carbon offsets; aka they support the Australian Biodiverse Reforestation Carbon Offsets which has planted over 30 million native species of trees and shrubs in the Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor.
