About the Wine:
It is perfumed with cassis, licorice, strawberry sorbet, and a reminiscence of sea spray. It follows up with an earthy quality, complimented by roses, vanilla, and a buttery texture. On the palate, it lingers with fresh raspberries, oak spices, and vanilla. Enjoy it now or store it for up to 12 years.
About the Producer:
Vasse Felix was the first winery in the coastal Margaret River region of Australia. In 1967, cardiologist, Tom Cullity planted the original vines. Two decades later, he sold it to the Gregg family, whom sold it three years later to the Holmes a Court family, who still operate it today. In 2018 they were awarded “New World Winery of the Year.” The following year they obtained organic certification.
Technical Info:
Fermented using indigenous yeasts, with many experiencing maceration periods of up to 40 days. Natural fermentation and extended maceration are coupled with traditional oxidative handling to clearly define the intricate personality of each vineyard site before blending. A higher portion of Petit Verdot (compared to previous vintages) brings a bright nuance and extended tannin profile in this well performing year. While a small portion of Malbec complements and enhances the Cabernet profile.
